4/25/13

Yesterday:

I had a carnation breakfast......220c

a taco salad.

homemade pizza

spinach salad.

I did not work out, but we did go for a long walk together as a family after I got home from work, and played at the park. :)


Today:

about to make smoothies, then shower, then Joe and I are going for a walk I think. :)Update later! [Today is Silvana's last day of school]

so we had our uber healthy delicious smoothies, then we were still hungry an hour later.

SO 1390c not including my smoothie. Not as much as I thought it'd be!!! But still not good. Could've been less. :(

I weighed in today... back to 230 after I had weighed in at 232 last week .. was on my period and snacking a lil bit.. not horribly but a little.

I'm praying to be under 230 next week Friday. So in 1 week and 1 day. PLEASE help me Lord... please give me strength. I know that what I'm going through is an addiction, and food is my drug. Please help me to make wise choices and keep my body healthy and clean!!! <3 Love

4/23/2013 - Steppin' it up!

Today my legs have been SO sore from the squats & elliptical exercises I've been doing every day. I almost didn't work out today, but I forced myself to and I am happy I did! I feel so great! I want to keep this going! I love the fact that skipping even one day makes me feel really bad about myself... I know that probably sounds crazy. Who would WANT to feel bad about themselves, right? Well I know I need to give this my all, and to stay on top of my game. So I am fine with being disgusted with myself on days I skip a workout. Keeps me in line. ^^;


In other news; lol.

Today I ate:

1 6 inch subway breakfast flatbread consisting of:

1 6" flatbread......
1c spinach..........
green peppers & onions...
banana peppers & jalapenos....
NO CHEESE

Then I had:

1.5c of raisin bran.....
3/4 c fat free milk.......

then I had 4 ritz crackers...
6 oz of fat free/ sugar free chocolate pudding....

4 oz of ground beef taco meat.......
1 romaine lettuce salad.........
2tbsp of taco sauce.............
2 taco shells...................

6oz of chocolate pudding........
3 strawberries..................

Then I worked out on the elliptical for half an hour ~ 420 calories.

Drank green tea, ice water, and a cup of delicious coffee. I might have more coffee tonight.. just so good!

Now it is 8:18pm, going to relax with the husband and watch some T.V. :)

4/22/13

I can definitely feel that I worked out last night! My legs are sore, but not sore that I can't walk, just achy. I love it!!!!! My arms are, too.

Today I plan on concentrating on my mid section, and also getting in at least a half hour elliptical workout.

So far today, I made smoothies.

I had a banana when I first woke up because I was really hungry.

Then the smoothies I made had: [I'm not 100% sure of the exact amounts, or calorie amounts, but I'm going to try my best!]

A huge handful of raw spinach...15 c
a handful of hemp hearts........400c
a handful of chia seeds........300c
about 3-4 tbsp of flaxseed oil..350c
3/4c of blueberries............80c
a banana........................90c
3-4 tbsp of lemon juice.......40c
3/4c almond milk...............60c
some ice


1335 cals. [all healthy ones!]

Joe and I split it evenly.

so, 668 cals each.

Then we both added about half a cup of granola and ate it like that. YUMM! :)

It is now 12:47. I just got done cleaning the house and having lunch. I had:

7 milwaukees best mini dill pickles- 15 cals
2 slices of wheat bread toasted - 160 cals
2 tbsp of coconut oil - 240 cals

So, total including my breakfast, I'm at 1083 calories.

Remember, I always over estimate my calories. I look them up, or look on the package... and then roundup by 5's, or even 10's sometimes.

I might have a light snack later, try to keep it under 100c.

And then for dinner I still have to figure something healthy out. I can't each spinach salad every single night......... oor can I? ;)


I ended up making quesadillas.

Mine consisted of:

1 tortilla.........200
1 chicken breast..180
1 tbsp olive oil...100
2 oz monterey jack...160
3 mini bell peppers...25

Then dipped it in hot sauce...0 cals. YUMMMMO.


1838 cals, including the banana that I ate when I first woke up, and forgot to count. :)

Not tooo shabby! I haven't worked out today, though. I did get a lot done around the house and had a great day with the kids, planting veggies, cleaning up the yard, and talking about Earth Day. :)

Maybe I will still get in an elliptical workout. I definitely still plan to do my arm -free weight workouts, and squats, and perhaps even some sit ups or some type of midsection workouts. :)

It is now 12:21 a.m. I just got in my 30 minute/ 400 cal elliptical workout. I am SORE! Earlier I did some 5lb arm reps, some yoga type floor back and leg exercises, and some squats. Feelin' good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After work the kids & I went for a walk down to the 'train park ' by Joe's work. I am super sleepy so I might nap, then get the kids to bed, then drink some green tea and work out. I'd like too try for an hour again tonight, and weights again. :)


Tonight instead of using my elliptical, I did a ton of different free weight arm exercises and squats & things I found on Pinterest. It was nice to change it up! I am going to have to come up with a weekly schedule now of what I do on what days. So far I've just been doing different settings on the elliptical and some free weight stuff. I am pretty sore, and I imagine I will be even more so tomorrow! :) Definitely loving being back at it! Before I had the kids I was at the gym all the time! I don't know why it's taken me so long to start caring again, but I'm so glad it's now rather than later!!! :)

55.32 is my body fat percentage according to livestrong.com One month ago it was 60.58, and 3 months ago it was 66%!!!

These numbers help me realize that even though the numbers on the scale aren't going down as quickly as I'd like, I am STILL making a difference in my health.

This past week Joe and I have both been off of work, so I probably ate just a bit more than usual, but I've worked out alot. I worked out 2x yesterday. I think one of my main problems right now is that I haven't been drinking enough water. I've been drinking plenty of green tea, but not enough water. Also, I definitely get my heart pumping during my elliptical workouts, but I feel like I need to change my workouts up a bit. I think today I'm going to have a 'dance party' with the kids for a good half hour/ hour. Maybe jog around the 'circle', do jumping jacks, etc. We can make it a family thing. :)

Silvana's off of school today and it's only 12:45 but Deslins school is getting out early today due to the weather, so I may as well work out with them. Could have fun! I want to be a good example to my children. I am done with gluttony, and temptation. I am done with being weak- willed. I need to take this diet to the next level!! NO cheese, NO junky snacking! Healthy yummy snacks only!! If I feel hungry, I need to chug some water! God help me please!!!!

Today my goal is to get in that workout, drink 4-5 of my huge water bottles full of water, and not eat anything else until dinner time. And then, have something healthy.

Today is the last day of my week off. I've been super busy getting things done around the house., doing things at the kids' schools, going to Marquette, etc. etc. I have been eating decent, worked out every day except 1, and I worked out twice yesterday. Feel like I'm in a weight-loss plateau.. not really losing any more than the 15 I've lost. Not sure what to do from here.. kind of depressed about it all.

4/15/13

Woke up this morning, had a cup of coffee and a tall glass of ice water.

Got in my 30 minute elliptical workout; 420 calories.

Made the kids scrambled eggs [with almond milk], spinach, and 1.5 pieces of turkey bacon for breakfast, with a side of orange juice.

Joe and I had breakfast sandwiches. YUM.

Here's what was in them:

2 pc whole grain bread toasted ...........160 calories.
2 tbsp coconut oil [on the bread].........240 cslories.
1/2 pc of mozarella string cheese.........40 c
1 slice of turkey bacon cut in half.......35 c
3 mini bell peppers.......................25 c
1/2 c of fresh spinach leaves.............4 calories
crushed red pepper flakes.................0 calories
2 egg whites..............................28 calories.

So as of right now at 10a.m., my total calorie count is 532 well- spent calories. :) Very happy with that! That's 1/3 of my calorie goal for today. It was spent on breakfast, the most important meal. The coconut oil alone was almost half of those calories, and that stuff is SOOO very good for you. :) I shall update later with what else goes on. My goal other than what I eat today, is to organize the drawers of the hutch, and the 'junk' drawer in the kitchen, the baking cupboard, and the cupboard that holds all the 'extra's' in the kitchen. Probably going to be purging a lot of the stuff in there I don't use. Such as the 'hamburger patty former' I got for free at a cooking store in the mall in Wisconsin Dells when we bought our broiler pan. I can make like 10 small burgers out of 1 pound of hamburger, there's no need to make hamburger patties that are bigger than the palm of my hand! Plus I tried it once and it doesn't work the greatest.

Anyways, I intend to weigh-in this Friday and expect to see some weight loss. Considering I have this entire week off, I have all the time in the world to focus on eating right, blog about every detail, and to get in a lot of good workouts. :) Pray pray pray! <3 Momma needs to get healthy! :)

Today is Sunday.
We all slept in which felt glorious.

When we woke up I made smoothies.

2c fresh spinach, 1/2c hemp hearts, 1/4c chia seeds, 1/3c flaxseed oil, 1/3c coconut oil, 1 banana, 1c frozen blueberries, 1tbsp honey, 1/2c orange juice, 3tbsp lemon juice and 1c ice.

The kids each had 6 oz of it, Joe and I had 8-10 oz of it.

For lunch I had 2 pieces of string cheese

16 wheat thins= 140c

For dinner I had a double bacon cheeseburger and 1c of french fries from the drive in, and 10 oz of root beer.

I had 4 cups of green tea, 4+ glasses of iced lemon water

1 bowl of ice cream approx 300 calories,
with 3tbspn chocolate
3 tbspn caramel
and 1/3c of chopped nuts.

That's all I recall right now. I didn't work out, but I don't feel too bad. It's only the second day this week that I didn't work out., it's a questionable time of month soooo I'm enjoying having a relaxing, junk food day.

Tomorrow is Monday, and as soon as we get the kids off to school I'm going to work out and watch the Today show.

CALORIE/ EXERCISE GOALS

To lose 30 pounds within the next 4 months, I need to keep my calories UNDER 1700/ 1800, except 1-2 times a week I can have up to 2200.

I need to exercise for at least 30 minutes, 4-5 days a week.

4/11/13 & 4/12/13

On the 10th where I left off, I do not think I worked out after the kids went to bed. I was pooped out and knew I needed sleep.


Yesterday, the 11th, I had: [ in conjunction, always, with my One A Day womens vitamin, biotin, and fish oil]

Breakfast:

snack:

3 sausage links................... 320

lunch:

3/4 c of strawberries............ 60

small piece of a homemade rice krispy..........100

1710 total cals.

I also had 6C of green tea throughout the day, and about 6 16 oz glasses of ice water.

I did not work out. After the banquet we came home, we were all tired and cranky.




Today so far, 4/12/13:

I got in my 30 minute workout on the elliptical...worked off 420 cals

I've had 36oz of iced green tea

That is all so far! It's already 9:17 and I haven't eaten. I'm about to have my carnation breakfast though. Will update later. :)

So I'm at 2377! Thank GOD I worked out last night. I'd like to work out tonight but idk.. I'm tireeed. And I already got in one workout. Tomorrow is a whole new day and I am going to whoop it's ass!!!!!!!!!

So, so far I've had 893 calories. Not sure what I'm going to have for dinner, maybe a brat that I bought from work, and a spinach salad. Decisions, decision! Planning on getting my workout in tonight just like last night. But if I don't, I'm not gonna sweat it because I am for sure getting in a workout Thursday night, probably Friday morning, and saturday night. Pray for me!!!


For dinner I had 2c of fresh spinach with a tablespoon of olive oil..............14 + 119

That leaves me at 1886 for today.

It feels good to eat a bit of what I want, and not go over my calorie count! I think that having the carnation breakfast helps because otherwise I over indulge on breakfast. I LOVE breakfast foods!

Today I could've just eaten 1 brat for dinner and skipped the cupcake. But in my defense i was super hungry [the brat] and craving chocolate hard core! I'm pretty proud of myself for skipping like 89% of the snacks I usually indulge in.

It feels good to consciously 'THINK' about what I'm eating, before I eat it. Rather than later. :)

DEFINITELY want to get my workout in tonight. But it's 6:45 and I promised the kids I'd play games with them until bed time, which will be about 7:30-8ish. I could definitely get in my workout after that. :) Pray for my unfaltering will power!!!!!!!!!

4/9/13

So my goal is to try and make this blog a daily thing. If I skip a day here & there, no biggie.. but I'd like to aim for every day.

Today I had a carnation breakfast. ....220 cals

then 2 cups of chilled green tea. ..... 0 cals

Then for lunch, a 6 oz salad, with 6 thick cucumber and tomato slices chopped on top..........30 cals +12 cals + 8 cals

2 oz homemade ranch dressing ............100 cals

2 boiled eggs ..................... 140 cals
5 chunks of broccoli/cauliflower..... 30 calories

4 cups of lemon water ................ 0 cals

2 more cups of chilled green tea........0 cals

Fiber Plus bar.........................120 cals

banana cake SMALLL Slice...............100 cals

came home and had:
1 slice of bread .....................80 cals
1 tiny (1 -2 ounce) leftover hamburger. 200 cals


[ I like to over-estimate my calories, if anything, to make sure I don't go over too much.] Like the burger, I doubt that tiny beast that was smaller than the palm of Deslin's hand, was 200 calories. But assuming a homemade burger is approx 293 calories as I've researched, I'd like to be safe.


So far, that means I've had 1040 calories. WOOOP! And as of right now, I do not feel even slightly hungry. My original count stated I had only eaten 840 calories, I was excited! But I had forgotten a few little things. :P lol..

Not sure what Im going to have for dinner. Joe went to get a turkey pot pie his mom made us. he wants that. I might have half of a pastie, if he hasn't eaten those already. Or maybe a smidge of the pot pie. Either way I better get on it. It's 4:45 right now and I don't want to eat past 7. Probably will eat dinner around 6. I'll update later with what I ate!! I'm tired, so I'm not sure if I'll work out today. Had a super duper busy day at work. May not work out tomorrow either. But either way I am for sure working out Thursday night, and Friday morning before work. Pray for me!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3



UPDATE:
I called Joe, and his parents are at their house in Baraga so he's visiting and taking his sweet time with that turkey pot pie. And I was STARVIN MARVIN.

It is now 5:30. I just ate a burrito .........240 calories
2c of raw spinach......... 25 calories
30 jalapeno slices..............5 calories
and 2 tbsp of hot sauce...........0 calories


This brings me to 1310.


May have a bit of pot pie if he ever returns with it, and /or have a bit of sherbet later on. We shall see!

It is now 7:28. I just had dinner with the fam.

2008 calories today. That is ALL I will be eating. Planning on getting in a workout tonight. I'm pretty tired, but I really want to get in a workout!

UPDATE:: 10:00pm.. JUST got in a great workout on the elliptical!!! 450 calories, bay bay! :D

According to various exercise calculators, I need to eat under 2,100 calories a day, and burn calories almost daily, to lose 30 lbs in 4 months! I'm feeling positive about this!!!

4/8/13

Just got in THE BEST workout on the elliptical that I think I've had!!!! My ENTIRE shirt is drenched in sweat. Went 20 mins hard, then 10 mins backwards hard, which going backwards by itself is hard. WOOP. So far I've drank a to go cup full of green tea, one full of water. Going to have my carnation breakfast within the half hour, then have a spinach salad for lunch later on, and probably have some chicken and rice for dinner. :)


UPDATE: 1pm.

So far today I had 5-6 cups of green tea, 2 huge cups of water,

*1 carnation breakfast essentials in fat free milk - 220 calories
* 2 pieces of toast w/ 1 tbsp of butter each -360 calories
* 1 cup of grapefruit -80 calories

So far, 660 calories! will Update later. :)

Since I wrote this, I had:

1 burrito 240

1 slice of bread 80
1c spinach 42

AND I've had 2 more cups of iced green tea. About to have more of that, and will probably have a 'sleepy time' tea later tonight.

I do not plan on eating anything else, though.

That leaves my calorie count at 2109. I'd like to aim for keeping it under 2,000... even under 1500 would be really nice! I'm not disappointed in this number though. Could've went without the ice cream, but what fun would that be?! ;) At least I only had a super small amount. YOLO! :P But that's why I'd like to step it up, fight the cravings, and lose some weight!!! Please God help me stay on track! :)

230::::Silvana's Birthday weekend/ strange outcome!

So, last week I worked Monday. Had a carnation instant breakfast. Then I had a normal lunch and dinner. I worked out last week on Tuesday, I do not recall what I ate. I did not work out on Wednesday because we went to get the new van. On Wednesday I had a carnation breakfast, then we had a breakfast sandwich on the way to Rhinelander, and Mcdonalds before we came back home I actually may have worked out Wednesday night.. not sure. On Thursday I woke up early and got in my work out I believe. That day we ran the cats to get fixed, and then had popcorn chicken and cheese curds at Walmart, then when I went to get the cats I got the kids and I DQ later for dessert. I had a mini blizzard. On Friday I did not work out because I worked and then was getting everything prepped for Silvana's party. Saturday was her party, I did not work out. Ate some pizza, some cookie-cake, and an ice cream sundae. LOL. Today, Sunday, I had burritos, an ice cream sundae, etc. And... I weighed in today... and I have officially lost 15 pounds!! The scale says 230!!!!!!!!!!! :D I don't know how or why, but I have lost weight! I have honestly been happier though.. I've been drinking green tea, and water, and the only other thing is coffee maybe 2 times a week. Have been watching what I eat most days, but when I do 'cheat' I only have a fraction of the portion size I would have in the past. AND I've been working out at least 3 days a week... I just don't always have the time or energy to do every single day. However, I would love to get to that point! I noticed that when I'm consistently working out many days in a row, I am more motivated and energetic.. if I take a couple of days off it takes more to get me back at it. *sigh* idk. Just gotta keep pluggin' away! I must be doing SOMETHING right... right??! ;)

First day of the work[out] week!

Well today is the 'monday' of my workout week!

I worked Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, early shifts, so I was just wiped out, plus have a nasty cough/cold situation going on.

I set my alarm for 5:45 today, hoping to get up and have some coffee, then get in my workout before Joe got home...didn't happen!

I did wake up at 6:45 though, when he arrived home.

Drank some coffee, printed off some papers that he needed to send out at the post office, got Deslins lunch and such packed for his 'fun day' at the OCC, and then when Joe left to drop off Deslin and mail out the papers, I stayed home with Silv and watched the news/got in my workout.

I cannot even describe the euphoric feeling my whole body gets after a workout!! It's easy to see why working out is an addiction. One I plan on keeping for life. :)

So far today I only drank coffee and water. I'm about to have a carnation breakfast essentials, and then I'll have a spinach salad for lunch, and probably a spinach salad w/ boiled egg for dinner. No snacks, no junk, no empty calories for me this week.

I weighed in this morning and the scale said 234.8. :S Last week it was 233....I do understand that it can fluctuate, but I don't like that number. I want my number to be going down at all times.

Time to kick it into high gear this week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bleck!

Today is Monday, April 1st.

I worked Saturday and Sunday from 6:30-2:30, and had easterish things going on each day after I got home, so I didn't work out at all this weekend.

I worked today from 8-4, and I had hoped I'd work out afterwards. But it's 10pm, the kids just went to bed a bit ago, and I feel I should go soon, too.

I woke up about a week ago with an awful sore throat, and it has progressed into an awful cough, and hacking up brown/yellow globs. YUCKKKK.

So, needless to say, I'm not at the top of my game, and it's hard for me to be motivated to work out when I feel this way. :(

Tomorrow morning Joe will be home at 7am, and I am planning on getting up at that time, to print off some papers for him to mail out, and after I print everything off I plan to work out in the morning while watching the Today show.. one of my favorite things to do. :)

Then I have tons of cleaning to do tomorrow. Definitely going to consume some coffee tomorrow.

I think I've done pretty good today as far as what I've eaten...but could have done better.

I drank 7 cups of iced green tea, 6-8 cups of ice water,

had a carnation breakfast essentials with fat free milk for breakfast,

a lettuce/veggie salad for lunch, with a small amount of homemade ranch dressing, and 2 oz of turkey breast,

5 pizza bites homemade, and 8 oz of veggies for dinner.

BUT for snacks today I had 2 biscuits, and a peanut butter natura valley granola bar. UGH.

Definitely couldve done without the snacks and felt better about myself right now.

Tomorrow I am determined to eat even better.

Need to buy more spinach, too. We go through 2-3 bags a week lately! I love me some spinach salad though. :)

Well I'm gonna go slam some water, then hit the hay, and get a good nights sleep so I can be more productive tomorrow.

I'm not beating myself up TOO much, because I did agree with myself that It was okay if I don't workout on days I work...

and I worked the last 3 days, including today.,...

but I also promised myself I wouldn't go 3 days without working out.

But seeing as I'm kind of sick, and have been super stressed lately with work issues, I am going to revel in my sleep tonight..

then make up for it tomorrow, with exercising.

Please God give me the strength and determination and will power!!!!!!!
